Terms & Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using the BalanceSe mobile application ("App"), operated by Sozo Labs Pvt Ltd ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App. These Terms apply to all users of the App.

BalanceSe is an AI-powered personal finance management application that helps users:

• Connect bank accounts via the RBI-regulated Account Aggregator framework
• Track income and expenses automatically
• Analyse spending patterns and financial trends
• Receive personalised AI-powered financial insights
• Manage budgets and savings goals

The App is available in multiple languages and adapts its interface based on user language preferences. Core functionality remains the same across all languages.

To use BalanceSe, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident of India
• Have a valid bank account with a participating bank in the Account Aggregator network
• Have a valid mobile number for authentication

By using the App, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements.

To access the App's features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

BalanceSe offers subscription-based access to premium features. By subscribing, you agree to:

5.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Razorpay, an RBI-compliant payment gateway. We do not store your payment card details.

5.2 Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
• You authorise us to charge your selected payment method at each renewal
• Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes

5.3 Cancellations and Refunds

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App or Play Store settings
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy

By linking your bank account through the App, you:

• Grant explicit consent for BalanceSe to fetch your financial data via the AA framework
• Acknowledge that the bank linking interface is managed by the Account Aggregator, not BalanceSe
• Understand that you can revoke this consent at any time
• Confirm that BalanceSe does not store or have access to your raw bank credentials

Your financial data is used solely to provide you with spend analysis and financial insights within the App and is not shared with any third party for commercial purposes.

The AI-powered insights and recommendations provided by BalanceSe are based on your transaction data and general financial principles. They are intended for informational purposes only and should not be solely relied upon for making major financial decisions.

Sozo Labs Pvt Ltd is not a registered financial advisor, broker-dealer, or investment advisor. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.

You agree not to use the App to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App or its systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Transmit any harmful, offensive, or disruptive content
• Interfere with the operation of the App or its servers

We reserve the right to terminate access for users who violate these conditions.

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including but not limited to the software, design, text, graphics, logos, and AI models — are the exclusive property of Sozo Labs Pvt Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This licence does not include the right to:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Use the App's content for commercial purposes
• Remove any proprietary notices or labels

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sozo Labs Pvt Ltd shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Errors or inaccuracies in financial data or AI-generated insights
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
• Any interruption or discontinuation of the App's services

Our total liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable laws.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@sozolabs.in or through the App settings. Upon termination:

• Your access to the App will be immediately revoked
• Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Any unused subscription time is non-refundable unless required by applicable law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including:

• Information Technology Act, 2000
• Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act)
• Consumer Protection Act, 2019
• RBI guidelines applicable to Account Aggregator framework

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via:

• In-app notification
• Email to your registered address
• Updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
